Waterproof Expeditions
Mexico White Sharks Trip Information
There is likely no better place in the world to see great white sharks than Guadalupe Island, Mexico. Visibility is usually excellent - 100 feet or more - the water colour is very blue and the seas are generally quite calm. Frequency of shark sightings is excellent and quite reliable and these big guys will come right by the shark cages to check you out. Cage time is virtually unlimited after the first morning.
Diver experience level
Suitable for both divers and non-divers, and fantastic for photographers. Divers in submersible cages will be escorted by a divemaster.
The cages go up and down every 35 minutes always with a divemaster in each one and diving is done via surface supplied "hookah" (although there is backup dive gear in each cage).
The Great Whites often follow the submersible cages up to the surface and will hang around for a bit so we also have a 7 metre long mega-surface cage tethered off the back of the Nautilus. Dive time is virtually unlimited from dawn to dusk during the days that we are anchored on site (the only restriction is during the first morning when everyone is getting used to the cages).
Visibility
Extraordinary. 25 - 40 metres. Very blue water.
Current
Usually light to none.

Water temperature
22 degrees in August dropping to 21 degrees by October.

Number of dives on the trip
Virtually unlimited. The only restriction is on the first morning when we do warmup dives.
