We are proud that our partners of Waterproof Sweden have yet again been awarded with a prestigious Design Award for the W1 wetsuit.
The jury's verdict reads:
"With one foot in the water and the other in the office, Waterproof has succeeded in creating an industry "top-of-the-line" wetsuit. Key words when creating the W1 wetsuit were organic, technical, floating lines and surface structure. The inspiration came from the sports, automotive and footwear industries. The result is a fantastically crafted product that makes both diving pros as well as land-lovers take an extra deep breath."

The W1 suit was last year awarded with the international high profile Red Dot Design Award and their "Best of the Best 2009" prize.

We are proud to have won a Silver medal for our film 'Facing Reality' in the Underwater Digital Video Contest 2009.
Winning, or even just being placed, is Underwater Videos's most coveted accolade because it says we succeeded in the most competitive environment there is, against the top talent of the moment.
Every January a panel of judges select the best movies entered in our online Video contest from the previous year. Gold, silver, and bronze medals are awarded for the top three from each category in order of merit.
The judges comprise of industry professionals (and last year's World Champ).

World Travel Awards was established in 1993 to acknowledge and celebrate excellence in the world's travel and tourism industry.
Nomination are based on the previous year's voting and recommendations made by travel, tourism & hospitality industry professionals.

The 'W1 Lady Diving Suit' , from our partner Waterproof Diving International in Sweden, is the first diving suit awarded the famous Red Dot Award, with the additional “best of the best” added design award.
Waterproof from Sweden is by this now ranked among the top within the international design world, together with Prada, Apple, Nike and other top brands.

"A fantastic feeling to get an award considered to be the most prestigious in the world. And that at the same year Waterproof celebrates its 25 year anniversary as a company. This shows that our work with “gender specific design” have been appreciated", says Göran Ehlmé head of the design team at Waterproof.

The award states that the world leading design experts place Waterproof from Sweden at the same level as many of the most exclusive and famous brands. “red dot” award started 1955 and have been presented in a yearly gala event in Germany. 1400 companies from 49 countries sent in 3231 items to the jury for examination. This show the broad base this award covers internationally.

Waterproof Diving Int AB celebrates 2009 its 25 anniversary as a manufacturer and Brand name. Since the start 1984 the products have gotten international recognition and have today the name of being the High-End diving suits on a world wide basis. With an in-house design team, full control over production and quality and a world wide distribution Waterproof claims the right as one of the diving business most serious player.

Waterproof Expeditions sponsors the Rolex Underwater Scholarship. The scholarship aims to give young ambitious students the opportunity to pursue diving and underwater related careers through hands on experiences, education and a professional network.
A year long internship based program, directed towards discipline such as underwater photography, scientific diving, manufacturing, hyperbaric medicine, technical diving and many more. With their futures to their extend, they also invest in young ambitious people to become invaluable ambassadors for our natural underwater world and the dive industry in general.

Waterproof Expeditions invited Eline Feenstra to travel to Antarctica on a diving expedition to the White Continent. Her story was published in several diving magazines.
